Diogelu ac Amddiffyn Plant / Safeguarding and Child Protection

Mae gan staff YGG Abercynon ddyletswydd fugeiliol tuag at ein disgyblion. Mae'r ysgol yn chwarae rhan bwysig i atal camdriniaeth ac esgeulustod drwy greu a chynnal awyrgylch ddiogel i blant a phobl ifanc. Mae pob aelod o staff yr ysgol hon yn gyfrifol am ddiogelu ac amddiffyn plant sy'n ei mynychu. Os oes pryderon ynglyn ag esgelustra neu gam drin corfforol, emosiynol neu rywiol, yna mae'n ddyletswydd ar y staff, yn unol a Threfn Diogelu Plant yr Awdurdod Lleol, i son am y mater wrth Gyd-gysylltydd Diogelu Plant yr ysgol.

Gall Cyd-Gysylltydd yr ysgol ymgynghori a chyd-weithwyr proffesiynol yn ogystal ag asiantaethau perthnasol megis y Gwasanaeth Iechyd a Chymdeithasol. Yn dilyn y trafodaethau hyn, efallai y bydd rhaid i Gyd-Cysylltydd yr ysgol gyfeirio'r plentyn yn swyddogol i'r Adran Gwasanaethau Plant, yn unol a chanllawiau a phrotocol yr Awdurdod Lleol. Yr Adran Gwasanaethau Plant sy'n penderfynu a oes angen gweithredu neu beidio. Oblegid natur y cyhuddiadau, ni fydd bob amser yn briodol i drafod materion gyda'r rhieni cyn cyfeirio'r plentyn. Y Gwasanaeth Plant a'r Heddlu sy'n gyfrifol am ymchwilio i gyhuddiadau.

Mae'r ysgol yn dilyn polisi'r Awdurdod Lleol a phe bai cyhyuddiad yn erbyn aelod o staff fe fyddai'r ysgol yn dilyn camau gweithredu'r Awdurdod Lleol.

Each member of staff at YGG Abercynon is responsible for the protection and safety of children at the school. If there are any concerns regarding child neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse, then it's the staff's duty, in accordance with the Local Authority's Child Protection Procedure, to raise the matter with the school's Child Protection Co-ordinator.

The school's co-ordinator can confer with a professional colleague, as well as with a relevant agency, such as the Health and Chidren's Services. Following these discussions, the school Co-ordinator may have to officially refer the child to the Children's Services Department, in accordance with the Local Authority's guidelines and protocol. The Children's Services are responsible for deciding whether they need to act or not.

Due to the nature of some allegations, it is not always appropriate to discuss matters with the parent before referring a child. The Social Services and the Police are responsible for investigating into allegations. School follows the Local Authority's policy and, should there be an accusation against a memeber of staff, the school will follow the Local Authority's procedures.
